Installed at Brick Bay Sculpture Park until 2024
The Symphony of Worth and Worthlessness is an outdoor sculptural assemblage seeking to navigate and question our modern sociological relationship with production, consumption and waste.
The installation comprises a number of earlier porcelain and stoneware works of mine; moulded, sculpted and cast pieces that documented an inquiry of elements of my electronic and packaging waste between 2011 and 2016.
These components will be re-positioned together as one, outside, assembled in a bonded permanent heap or mound, alluding to structures of memorialisation, surrealist assemblage, and illegal rural dumping practices. A wry garbological take on the selfie, where what we leave behind tells the story of the lives we have lead, marking our tangible trace in time in a symphony of worth and worthlessness.
